15 years!

My parents have been married for 15 years! They were married Feb. 11, 1995. I was three years old.
I still have the dress I wore, in fact it is hanging up on my closet door, lookin' pretty. I can't believe I was once small enough to wear it!

My parents have lived in around 15 different houses since their wedding, and have lived in 5 different states, across the US. They've had 13 children, some who went home early, and nine healthy ones with one due in may.
Speaking of may, my mama is 28 weeks along, nearly 29 weeks! She is seven months and has 2 1/2 months to go.
She is due may 2nd.
I am crocheting a blanket/poncho for the baby with my limited skills... I am trying to learn new stitches! :)
Can't wait!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Mama and Daddy!

Some Thoughts

When I was ten, I would count the years until I was thirteen. I saw thirteen as a big adult age and I couldn't wait to be there. Sixteen seemed especially old to me, and I looked up to anybody that age with admiration and awe. Oh, and eighteen! How ANCIENT!

Now here I am at eighteen, and a lot of the time I feel ten again. I stumble over my words and inwardly kick myself when I act like a fool. I long for an older more mature age when this will all be past.

How silly I feel sometimes when I shun my mothers help, only to later realize how much I need it! I feel like a baby, just starting to take her first steps! She holds on so tight to her mother, then quickly lets go, sure she can do it on her own. Then she stumbles and falls, only to be wrapped in her mothers warm arms again. "Oh dearest," the mother whispers, "you are still too small for such big steps!"
And that is the way it is with me some times.....

I am so sure at 18 I can conquer the world! I will cure cancer and defeat all the bad guys.......
But I can't cure cancer or rid the world of evil, and I am still so much a baby in so many ways.
I need my mother and father, and their gentle guidance.
I am learning to take correction when it is given, to admit I was wrong and to say I am sorry....... from everyone, friends and little siblings alike.
I am learning I am still in need of guidance, no matter how old I am, whether its 12, 16 or 20.
I also know that honoring and respecting authority and growing under them is what Yahweh requires of me.

When I was little, my parents had a chart on the wall. It had verses on it that told us how we were to bahave. One was Ephesians 6:1. I said that one out loud many times as part of my punishment when I was small, and because of that I can recite it quickly!
No matter how old I get, I know that verse is for me. It is the first commandment with promise!

Children, obey your parents in Yahweh for this is right.
"Honor your father and mother", which is the first commandment with promise:
"that it may be well with you and you may dwell long on the earth."
Ephesians 6:1

Obedience to my parents is not too much an issue anymore. :) But that is not the part of the verse that I like the most.
"Honor your father and mother...."

Honor is very important, and it always has been, in every culture. A knight had honor, a woman had honor, a king had honor, a commoner had honor. Everybody had it, and we are always going to be honoring somebody else!
Its a good lesson to learn now. I will never be done honoring or submitting. Putting myself under somebody else, whether its Yahweh, my parents, or a husband, I will always be honoring and obeying someone else.

I like that. Its the way its supposed to be!

Honor: Esteem due or paid to worth; high estimation; respect; consideration; reverence; veneration; manifestation of respect or reverence.

I really like what the last part of that verse says..... 'which is the first commandment with promise..."

Promise: to pledge; to give one's word; to vow; to commit oneself to a certain course of action

I Promise, I pledge, I give my word, I commit myself to listening and learning ,to grow, to find out what Elohim has in store for my life, to honor, to submit, to obey the authorities over me.

January so far.....

Hello!
got my hair cut! The back is layered, and short like a boy's. Only the sides are long like that. I love it! (Not the best pic though...)

Well, I thought I would take a few seconds to write in my blog. I haven't been saying much because much hasn't been going on! :)
Anyways, this week has been kind of busy. On Monday we had another chiro appt. (We have one tomorrow too.), then on Tuesday I went out with some friends to a local coffee shop. We had alot of fun drinking our smoothies and hot cocoa's (or honey sweetened coffee for those who don't eat sugar. :):) ) and chatting up a storm.
Yesterday was ladies meeting, which is every other Wendesday. We are finishing up the book we have been studying, The Way Home by Mary Pride. Next meeting we are meeting at Panera Bread, and awesome restaurant not too far from where I live.Going out to a restaurant, especially one that promotes healthy living and eating, is always good!
My friend AP is leaving on Feb. 1 to help out a lady in MA for three and a half months. I won't see her again until late in May! WAAH!! Praying for her!
Another friend, KS:), is going to stay over a few days in late Feb. to help me watch my siblings while my parents go to a homeschool convention a few hours away.

AP let me borrow the most beautiful dress for my graduation pictures( she let me have it now since she won't be here when I have them taken.) and gave me what I thought was going to be quite the challenge-- to get COFFEE stains out the pale blue gown...... well, I don't know WHAT that dress is made of, but those stains came out with WATER! I was very pleased, because if I had had my pictures taken in that dress WITH the stain I would have had to stand at an angle or hold the dress up a little. So, I am happy and AP will be too, I am sure!!
Now if May will only get here QUICKER..!!

Mama is 25 weeks now! The baby moves about so much and I love feeeling her/him move! I looked in a baby book and at 25 weeks the baby is one and a half pound and is a little longer than 8 inches! So tiny!

We are going to see the Moody Men's Choir tomorrow evening. I am excited about hearing them sing! I love music, and especially when its live, right in front of me! Tomorrow morning we are headed to the library. Mama offered to get my books on her card, which is lovely, because it would be awful to watch everybody else get books and not me! :(
Tomorrow afternoon we have to see the chiro again-we go twice a week. I love that my neck no longer aches!

Well, thats about all for now! (Knowing me, I will remember something else just as I sign off! :):) )

Books anyone?

have a question for you all. Do you know of any good books I can read? Our library doesn't really have a great selection, and I am missing being able to read!!
The books don't have to be just Christian, but I don't like romance.:)

me again!

Hello! Its me again.:):)

I hope you all are doing well, and are healthy. I am. I had a popcorn ball and have never felt healthier. :):):)

Its been snowing here alot, thankfully a little seems to melt between snow falls. Otherwise I'd be brushing snow off my lap as I type this!!:)

I finished my last math book about three weeks ago, and I am very pleased. Technically I am done with High School, but I am going to graduate in May, with my party in June.

My mama is now six months along. Thank you for praying for her! The baby is healthy as far as we know. Please continue to pray over little ahava.:):)

We are still going to the chiro, and my neck has improved. :)

A girl I know came up from TX to visit our church along with her family, and on Wednesday we are going to go out to coffee to visit! I am excited!

Soon I am going to get the mop on my head cut again. I had it cut boyishly short in April, but it has all grown out since then. I am going to get it really short again, but long on the sides. Can't wait!:):)

Blessings!!
